Done~
I've decided to give up the blogging business for a few personal reasons. It was fun but I just can't keep up with a regular post schedule and I'd hate to disappoint my few readers. It was a fun ride but now I have to say...Goodbye~

Hi there!
Hello!
I'm sorry for the lack of updates even though I keep saying they're coming (I really do work on them but they always get lost for some weird reason or another -_-) Anyways I have 2 reviews planned for later that will be a change of pace. One game review, and one AMERICAN cartoon review (returning to my roots :p) They'll be here soon I promise.
That's all! Cya later~
P.S. I have no idea why I chose the Hello Kitty picture for this post...

"Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt" Episode 1 Review
Well after months of waiting, Gainax's newest anime is out...and I love it~ Built almost like it was made for Americans "Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt" is a charming, hilarious series that seems to have a lot of potential for awesome.
The first episode served as a quick introduction to the duo and what they do. They're both angels sent from heaven to defend the earth from ghosts. They also have to collect Heaven Coins to be allowed to stay on Earth. The plot may be simple and a bit cliche but it works and leaves things open for a lot of comedy.
Panty is a hot sex obsessed angel who loves the danger of fighting angels and Stocking is a sugar obessed gothic lolita with a fellow love for action. They both a very likeable and interesting, not to mention super hilarious. The only other 2 supporting characters introduced for far have been,Garterbelt who acts as a mentor to our heroines and Gir...I mean Chuck their zombie dog who they abuse a lot for a varying amount of humor.
The show doesn't try to pull any stops when it comes to vulgarity either, there's tons of cursing, giant turd monsters and sex on the episodes that came on today. It doesn't detract from the fun or anything but just a fair warning for those interested in the show.
The animation is great too, it looks like an adult version of "Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi" and it's really cute because of that. Don't get me wrong though, it's nothing special but it sets it apart from the general anime fair.
The only thing I really didn't like about the episode was the opening and ending. They just seem too boring and not quirky enough to set the mood of each episode up for a series like this. Not a major detractor though. The series' insert songs are amazing so far though.
The series just gives a sort of mood to it that's different than other shows...A taste of originality in this world of either hardcore shonen action or very ecchi anime. It's fast, quirky and really fun. I put this on the recommended list.
That's all for now!

Hehe, I wrote for The Scratch Pad today!
Well guys, I did something awesome today...I wrote for another blog!
It's called The Scratch Pad and it's a colab blog between 7 Toon Zoners that have a deep love for comics and animation. I asked could I post for them because I thought it'd be fun, and it defiantly was. It's an erm "editorial" on a few anime Nick could air from Funimation's library.
I don't think what I wrote could ever compare to the fantastic jobs they do (seriously, their stuff is way better than anything I could write at this time and this is with my full effort) but I still found it to be fun and an interesting experiment (Oh and I edited the post like 50 times before the lead writer TomatoSurprise published it, so it's better than the original one I sent in, which was kinda bad IMO) But they still are REALLY nice guys and I think it is an honor to have blogged along side them today.
http://therealscratchpad.wordpress.com/2010/08/10/5-anime-nick-could-license-from-funimation-that-could-be-successful/#more-1015
So there it is, and again I tried my best but it's probably something that one day I'll be able to look back at and notice how vastly my blogging has improved. So enough of my borderline emo bullcrap and go read it! Oh and I have one more thing to say, Enjoy!~

Evangelion 2.22 gets licensed by Funimation!
You may have heard already but Funi picked up Evangelion 2.22 for an english release next year. Sure we all knew they were going to get it, but this news is still worth blogging about.
The big question is though, will Tiffany Grant still voice Asuka in the new dub? Nothing is written in stone yet so we're not sure whether she will return or not. Also another big question is who will voice Mari? I can't think of anyone who I think would work but they'll probably get someone good.
I also hope that there is another theatrical run in the USA for the movie, Khara probably is making them have one as part of the license to get the movie but, who knows.
This is some great news and I can't wait to see what comes of it.
That's all!

Saikano (The last love song on this little planet) - Review
Saikano is kind of like the series Narutaru in which it is a dark version of a usually light hearted genre (in this case this is a dark version of the Magical Girlfriend genre) But unlike Narutaru (which was kinda mediocre), it ends up being excellent because of that.
The story of Saikano follows Shuuji, the last man to ever truly love his little girlfriend on the entire planet (maybe even literally!) and the events that led up to that fate. The first episode plays out like your generic romance anime would, with the two main characters Shuuji and Chise meeting and vowing to fall in love, with a light hearted silly mood. Then the mood changer happens, we find out Shuuji's girlfriend Chise is actually the worlds most advance weapon and that Japan is at war with the rest of the world, and she is the only one that can save them from total annihilation (why they are at war is never said though...) After that scene, the series gets a little darker but it never tries to leave that love story part that the series is built on.
The cast of characters are very colorful and act very realistic. There are almost no minor characters in the series, everyone plays a part in the story and everyone is expanded on in every episode. There are few other series I could say this about. It handles the characters very well (and they paid extra focus on the emotional scenes with them, it's highly noticeable...in a good way!)
The animation, while not extraordinary still looks really nice and never dips in quality throughout the entire series. It looks a little faded though but that's on purpose and it adds to the mood of the entire series being a bitter sweet memory between two lovers.
The background music/score is good also. It has a nice Jazzy feel to it that again, helps to that mood of everything just being a bitter sweet memory. The opening and ending are also nice and they help set the mood of each episode very well.
So in conclusion, I'm glad I ever found out about this anime because it was one of the greatest series I have ever seen and I would watch it again and again. I recommend it to anyone who loves great anime.
That's all folks! Cya~
Sorry!
Well like the title says...sorry for being off schedule these last 2 months! It's just that I've been having so much fun this summer and I forgot all about this blog :p
Don't worry though, I plan to return to schedule this month and I've already begun on this months post (and another 2 to make up for last month!) and I plan on posting one each week as an apology.
Expect to see one later tonight! (Oh and new blog look!)
Cya soon~
